Fences, decks, siding and power washing

Fence Installation & Deck Repair

Fence runs built or mended, deck boards and rails repaired, plus siding repairs and power washing for the whole outside.

Chapter 01

Fence posts that stay plumb through a Columbus winter

Fence Installation is decided below ground. Central Ohio clay holds water, and when that water freezes it heaves anything set shallow. Posts need to go in below the frost line, roughly three feet down, set plumb and packed so the line stays straight when the ground thaws in March.

Above ground, the work is layout and gates. The run is strung from corner to corner, posts are spaced to suit the panel or picket, and gates are hung with the right hinges and a latch that actually catches, since a gate is the part of a fence that gets used every day and the first to sag.

Leaning posts, broken pickets and soft deck boards

Most fence calls are repairs. A leaning post usually means the footing has heaved or the wood has rotted at grade, and a post can often be reset or sistered instead of the whole section torn out. Broken pickets, loose rails and a gate that drags get replaced or re-hung so the fence reads as one piece again.

Deck Repair follows the same logic. Press a screwdriver into a board near a railing post or a ledger and you will know whether the wood is sound. Soft boards, wobbly rails and loose stair treads get replaced and re-fastened, and a deck that is still solid underneath can be cleaned and stained instead of rebuilt.

Chapter 03

Siding repairs, power washing and paint around the edges

The same crew handles the rest of the outside. Siding repairs mean swapping a cracked or warped board, re-sealing a gap where water has been getting behind it, and matching the profile so the patch does not stand out on a brick and siding house.

Power washing clears a season of grime, mildew and green growth from siding, walkways, fences and decks, and it is also the right first step before staining or painting, so the finish bonds to clean wood. Do it on a dry week, since new stain over damp boards peels. Call or text with a photo and the job gets a free estimate.
